FSH Test Kit:
Provided upon enrollment is an FSH Test Kit.  The kit contains two midstream FSH tests that uses urine to activate (similar to a home pregnancy test). The tests are performed 5 to 7 days apart from each other. The test kit is approved by the FDA for home use and includes complete directions.  Record your test dates and positive or negative results within the study.

History of Study

Dr. Vikki Hufnagel presented many academic papers in the 1980's at peer review meetings defining the existence of PTLS. Susan Bucher founder of Tubal.org in the 90's began correspondence with Dr. Hufnagel and they designed a retrospective study to gather data on tubal ligations as a global concept. They contacted the FDA, and the NIH Woman's Study sector, the ACOG, and others seeking assistance to have a national study. Years pasted and there was no interest by these organizations and the ACOG refused to answer the many letters sent them on this issue.

At this time we are offering this study to be supported by women who have had tubal ligations and believe they have suffered from the procedure. This is a self selective aspect of the study. We are aware that women having no problems will not seek out to join this study. Our population is selective, however, it is this population that has not been specifically evaluated at any time.

Requirements for involvement in the study:

• Female
• You have a tubal ligation or sterilization

As we could not get help from agencies in the past, economic support is needed for this study.  The funds collected by the enrollment fee will keep this study up on line and help to publicize this issue.

Enrollment Fee: $30.00

All women enrolled are provided with a FSH Test Kit.   We request volunteers to use the FSH self test and to record your results within the study.

Each participant is provided with an ID Number and Password to access the on-line study questionnaire. Study results (data) will be public at all times. Your contact information will not be public. You will be known as a number in the study.   Study updates and notices will be posted on the web and provided by optional newsletters.

This is the only study of its kind and we hope you will join the study.
