Women with premature ovarian failure (POF) may not attribute their symptoms to menopause—why would they? Their health care providers tend to misattribute symptomatology. Diagnostic testing is delayed, sometimes resulting in irreversible loss of bone density and premature osteoporosis.

The Coalition for Post Tubal Ligation Women
is NOT "anti-tubal"

The changes that frequently occur after (and caused by) a TL are very serious. It can affect a woman's quality of life as well as her life span. Women are not warned of the risks even though this is an "elective" surgery. If a women is truly and completely informed and she still desires to have a TL then she has a right to have this surgery. - It's her choice.

Currently, when women are explained about the surgery and when giving consent, "important and pertinent" information about "known" side effects such as "hormonal imbalances and rapid onset of menopause" is as a standard withheld.  Just ask any post tubal woman what she was informed of.   Women are told that there are no side effects associated with TL's or told that any side effects are minor and minimal.

The truth is the surgery is associated with some major negative side effects. Loss of sexual desire, hormonal imbalances which could accelerate bone loss, as well as conditions that drive women to have hysterectomies such as ovarian cysts, endometriosis, and adenomyosis are common.  With holding this information  is an abuse of surgical exploitation.

The first issue is informed consent. Our goal is to put in place "tubal ligation consent" laws that will protect women.

Women are not being informed. Not informing is a violation of human, civil, and informed consent "rights".

Not informing in order to mislead so the women will consent to the surgery leads the issue to fraud. Battery occurs when women are injured and suffer side effects that result from the surgery.

Secondary fraud occurs when women are told that they are too young to be menopausal, that tubal ligations could not cause this hormonal condition,  that their hormones don't need to be checked or will not show anything.

Human and civil rights are denied when women are refused hormone testing and when they are refused their right to be informed, diagnosed and/or  treated.

Secondary battery occurs when they are denied or not given proper treatment to their iatrogenesis condition. (this includes being prescribing the "pill" with no testing) . For many battery occurs daily as women suffered on a daily basis the side effects and again when they undergo 2nd and 3rd surgical procedures for conditions that the TL bought on.
